Deposit Guarantee Fund

The Deposit Guarantee Fund (FGD) was created in 2018, by Presidential Decree no. 195/18 of August 22, which approved the Deposit Guarantee Fund Regulation, which aims to reimburse deposits made with Banking Financial Institutions authorized to take deposits and domiciled in national territory.

Deposit Guarantee

Deposits made at Banco Keve, S.A. benefit from the reimbursement guarantee provided by the Deposit Guarantee Fund (FGD) whenever the Bank is unable to make such reimbursement.

The FGD guarantees reimbursement up to a maximum limit of AOA 12,500,000.00 (twelve million and five hundred thousand Kwanzas) per depositor and per Institution, regardless of whether the Depositor is a resident or non-resident in Angola and whether the deposit is made in national or foreign currency. The reimbursement of deposits by the FGD is made within three (3) months from the date the Banco Nacional de Angola confirms and communicates to the FGD the unavailability of deposits, or in a shorter period if the FGD can do so safely.

In determining the amount of deposits per Depositor, the total value of the Deposit Accounts is considered on the date of unavailability, including interest. In the case of deposits in foreign currency, the balance is converted into AOA (Kwanzas) at the exchange rate on that date (exchange rate reference disclosed by the Banco Nacional de Angola). In the case of Collective Accounts and in the absence of a contrary provision, the FGD distributes the reimbursement equally among the Account holders. For example, if a couple is the holder of an AOA 200,000.00 Account, each one is entitled to receive AOA 100,000.00, as the reimbursement is per Depositor.
